Marvel Avengers Assemble (2012)

We’re in the movies

It is a great privilege to play a vital part in a 100 year old industry, delighting audiences across the globe.

We operate in a non-stop environment where delivering late is not an option.

Without us executing perfectly, you are left with a dark screen in the cinema.

We work hard and thrive on the pressure of delivery. Each movie is special to us and delivered in the best way for that release, no two projects are ever the same.

Our character

We challenged our brand and decided not to settle for words to describe our beliefs, but rather to highlight qualities of our team that have evolved over time to make MPS such a special place to work.

This character is one that we can live every day, make decisions with and feel true to ourselves.

With, Human and Properly are not just words, they are how we work.

Employee Owned

In 2023 we became Employee Owned, which means that we are all co-owners of the business, whilst we stay with the business.

There are two stakeholders; Us and our customers, this focuses the entire way we work and deliver.

Customer success equates to MPS growth, a symbiotic relationship. Our ownership sets the tone for how we work, with each other, focused on customer success.

Our team members are experts, whose ideas and suggestions help our customers achieve the greatest impact.

Digital Cinema Package

Is the core delivery and storage format used for theatrical content. A complete DCP is a collection of audio-video assets and metadata files, based on standards created and maintained by SMPTE, which ensures that content plays consistently and at the highest quality on all theatrical systems.

DCPs make use of references to audio-video assets, allowing packages to be as small as possible while also accounting for the wide variety of versions required for a global market.

The vast majority of DCPs are encrypted to protect their content and use KDMs to control playback on devices.

Key Delivery Message

Is the backbone of content protection and rights management for digital cinema. KDMs work by utilising asymmetric encryption, digital certificates, and content metadata. The KDM ensures that content is only played on the targeted device at the times specified by the content owner, while the content remains protected at-rest while not in use. The format and functionality of a KDM is defined by SMTPE standards to ensure that KDMs work consistently across a wide variety of different digital cinema devices.

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers

Is a global society of diverse and engaged members, including creative professionals, media technologists, and engineers. Through their Standards Technology Committees, they have transformed the industry with over 800 engineering standards and guidelines developed to advance global interoperability of hardware and software.

SMPTE has been fundamental to the success and development of our industry and MPS is proud to be a member.

Interoperable Master Format

Is an extensible file-based delivery and storage format that is intended to simplify audio-visual masters for multiple territories and platforms.

Actively managed as an international standard by SMPTE, IMF is designed to work with any finished masters including the latest developments in audio-visual presentation.

Trusted Device List

Is a database of digital cinema equipment that is trusted for playout of DCPs, and their association locations throughout the world.

A TDL is important to ensure that KDMs only target expected, secure devices.

Cut the jargon…

“We help films studios and distributors share their stories with the world. Whether it’s a blockbuster movie, a documentary, or a live event, we localise the content so it connects with audiences in over 150 countries. That means creating subtitles, dubbing voices, and even adjusting on-screen text to fit each region. Then, we make sure it’s delivered seamlessly to subscription platforms and cinemas worldwide, helping our customers bring their stories to life on screens everywhere.”
Matt (MPS’ first employee)
